We started Mavren because we believed there was a better way to deliver technology consulting — less PowerPoint, more working software.
At the heart of the team is over 18 years of hands-on engineering and consulting experience. We've built data platforms from scratch, architected cloud solutions for enterprise clients, led agile teams through complex deliveries, and written plenty of production code along the way. We've worked across finance, business intelligence, and software — in start-ups, scale-ups, and large organisations alike.
What makes us different is that we stay hands-on. We don't hand off to a junior team once the architecture is agreed — we're in the code, in the data, in the detail. We move fast, prototype early, and don't consider something done until it's actually shipping.
When a project calls for more hands, we have a trusted network of specialist consultants and partner firms we work with regularly — so we can scale up quickly without ever compromising on quality.

Joined a leading financial services organisation with a single isolated analyst and no analytics function. Scaled the team to four, introduced Scrum, merged in the data engineering capability, migrated from Oracle to Snowflake, and moved reporting from Excel to Tableau.

In the early days of Snowflake's adoption, native connectors between Spotfire and Snowflake simply didn't exist. A specialist market research client needed to analyse large-scale medical questionnaire data — but had no way to surface that data meaningfully in their analytics platform.
A working analytics capability where none had existed — built on infrastructure ahead of what the platforms offered natively.

MavrenTrade is a mobile app for UK sole traders and small teams (gardeners, plumbers, electricians and more) to keep clients, jobs, quotes and invoices in one place. It works offline on site and syncs automatically when you're back online. Quotes and invoices can be emailed to clients straight from the app as PDFs, with replies going to the business's own email address.
Built in the UK, with data hosted in the UK and EU.

CutMap is a navigation and mapping app for UK canal boaters. It brings official waterway data (routes, locks, bridges and winding holes) together with community-sourced amenities like water points, fuel stops and canalside pubs, plus satellite and towpath-level views. Maps and canal data are saved to your device, so it keeps working in the middle of nowhere.
